Prince Charles Declared King Following Queen Elizabeth’s Death

Date:

The Royal Family announced at 1330 EST that Queen Elizabeth passed away today after serious health concerns were identified by her physicians. Prince Charles, who was already at her bedside, succeeded her immediately. Queen Elizabeth II reigned since 1952 and presided over 15 Prime Ministers, she now holds the record for longest reigning monarch in UK history.

The Queen spent her summer at Balmoral Castle in Ballater, UK. Members of the Royal Family, including Prince Charles, Prince Andrew and the Earl and Countess of Wessex were spotted at Aberdeen Airport en route to Balmoral to be with the Queen earlier today as her health situation deteriorated. Now King Charles has been popularized in several contemporary movies and documentaries concerning his marriage and divorce of the late Lady Diana Spencer. He should not be confused with his younger brother Andrew who has been denounced over his connections to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

International thoughts and prayers have been pouring in from leaders including PM Trudeau and President Biden.
