U.S. Journalist Evan Gershkovich Charged With Espionage

The Russian government has officially charged U.S. journalist Evan Gershkovich with espionage. According to Russian state-owned media, the FSB made this statement:

The FSB investigation charged Gershkovich with espionage in the interests of his country. He categorically denied all accusations and stated that he was engaged in journalistic activities in Russia.”

They also reported that when apprehended, Gershkovich had materials labeled “Top Secret” on his person.

On March 30th, 2022 Gershkovich was reportedly detained at Bukowski Grill restaurant in Yekaterinburg, when FSB agents pulled a sweater over his head and hurried him into a waiting vehicle. This is developing.
