At approximately 0355 EST, initial reports showed a knife attack on an Israeli man outside the embassy compound in Beijing, China. By 0430 EST, the Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed the man was in stable condition and the background concerning the event was unclear. The U.S. Ambassador to China made this statement:
We are shocked by today's attack on an Israeli diplomat in Beijing. I spoke with Israel's Ambassador to China, Irit Ben-Abba, and have offered our full support to the Israeli Embassy and Israeli community in China.

As of this publication, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has not commented on the stabbing, but Chinese police have restricted journalist access to the scene, secured local video equipment near the scene and are throttling key word search and the video posted above.
