According to Russian-state-owned media, Defense Minister Shoigu has landed in Beijing for an unannounced visit.

According to state-owned media he will be speaking at the Xiangshan Forum on “Responsibility of large states and cooperation in the field of global security.”
In an inflamed speech, Defense Minister Shoigu railed against the United States:
“Disregarding Russia’s legitimate rights to ensure its security, the White House persistently pursued the expansion of the NATO bloc it controls to the East. These aggressive steps forced us to take countermeasures. In response, the West openly headed for inflicting a “strategic defeat” on Russia in the hybrid war unleashed against us. Ukraine was cynically chosen as a battering ram, which is assigned the role of only a consumable materia…. having completely subjugated the countries of the Western camp, focused their military-political resources on the task of maintaining elusive global dominance by any means.”
“Achieving overwhelming geopolitical and military-strategic superiority, Washington for years has deliberately undermined and destroyed the foundations of international security and strategic stability, including the system of arms control agreements,” said the Russian Defense Minister. He added that “modern cataclysms in international relations are directly related to the opposition of individual states to the inevitable strengthening of a multipolar world, their attempts to maintain their own hegemony at all costs.”
The 10th Beijing Xiangshan Security Forum opened in China yesterday and will go to Octobrr 31st.
It is attended by leaders, ministers of defense and leading experts from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, as well as a number of European countries. The Beijing Xiangshan Forum is organized by the Chinese Military Science Association and the China Institute of International Strategic Studies. The forum will be attended by official delegations from more than 90 countries, including Great Britain, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
Chinese Central Military Commission Deputy Chairman Zhang told press: “We will continue to deepen strategic cooperation and strategic coordination between the armed forces of China and Russia”, in response to questions on the surprise visit of Shoigu.
He also said: “Taiwan is the core of China’s core interests, and the one-China principle is the general consensus of the international community. No matter who wants to separate Taiwan from China in any form, the Chinese military will never agree or show mercy.”
