Police Injured in Ramming Attack, Israeli Embassy, Tokyo, Japan

At approximately 2140 EST, initial reports indicated that a man drove his car into the gates of the Israeli embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

By 2200 EST, Japanese media had confirmed that a police officer was injured in the attack and the perpetrator had been captured after he failed to penetrate protective barriers outside the embassy complex.

As of this publication, the perpetrator and motive are unknown to the public. This incident joins a steadily growing wave of attacks against Israeli diplomats around the world as Israeli Defense Forces work to dislodge Hamas from the Gaza Strip. On October 13th, 2023, an Israeli diplomat was stabbed in Beijing.
