Active Shooter, Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico

Base authorities declared an all-clear with no arrests or suspects.

Update (2027 EST): No persons were injured after the suspect reportedly fired at least two rounds in a search for “1 or 2 people. The suspect is reportedly threatening self-harm and still at large on the installation.

At approximately 0750 EST, eyewitness reports indicated an active shooter situation onboard Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. Eyewitnesses identified this man as the potential shooter who was last spotted near the base hospital.

Cannon Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base, near Clovis, New Mexico. The host unit at Cannon is the 27th Special Operations Wing (27 SOW), which which plans and executes specialized and contingency operations using advanced aircraft, tactics and air refueling techniques to infiltrate, exfiltrate and resupply special operations forces (SOF) and provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance and close air support in support of SOF operations.
