U.S. F-16 Reportedly Crashes into Yellow Sea

Update (2052 EST): The pilot has reportedly been rescued at sea and is conscious.

At approximately 2025 EST, initial reports indicated that a U.S. Forces Korea F-16 fighter had crashed into the Yellow Sea off the coast of Gunsan, South Korea. The pilot is said to have ejected prior to crashing.

The aircraft was reportedly conducting training missions near the Kunsan Air Force Base which is used jointly by the Americans and Koreans. American F-16s are operated by the 8th Fighter Wing while Korean F-16s are operated by the 38th Fighter Group.
