Maine Removes Trump from 2024 Presidential Ballot

Maine has now become the second state, following Colorado, to remove President Trump from the 2024 presidential election ballot, citing the 14th Amendment’s insurrectionist clause.

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, per the Maine state constitution, has authority to weigh in on the issue before plaintiffs submit lawsuits for the removal, which they have already done. The Trump Campaign issue a letter to Bellows this week demanding her recusal from this decision due to her X posts which highlight her partisan views on the events of January 6th.

Her office declined to comment on the pending decision and has apparently moved forward in their decision to strike him from the ballot.

It is important to note that Trump has been returned to the 2024 Colorado Ballot as of now due to the state Republican Party submitting an appeal. That appeal negates the Colorado Supreme Court ruling until the United States Supreme Court rules on the case.

The below map shows all the states where lawsuits alleging Trump should not be allowed on the 2024 ballot due to the insurrection clause.
