South Korean Democratic Party Leader Lee Jae-myung Stabbed in Neck, Busan

Update (2058 EST): Video has emerged of the stabbing.

At approximately 2033 EST, South Korean Democratic Party Leader Lee Jae-myung was attacked during his visit to Busan, South Korea. His condition at this time is unknown. He was, at the time, inspecting the construction of Gadeoko New Aiport.

The assailant ran up to the political leader and stabbed him in the neck. The suspect was arrested and the object was confiscated.

Lee Jae-myung is a South Korean politician serving as a member of the National Assembly and the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea. Lee was the nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2022 South Korean presidential election. He was the 35th Governor of Gyeonggi Provincefrom 2018 to 2021.
