INC Ransom Publishes Xerox Documents

As this publication reported on December 30th, 2023, INC Ransom ransomware group published claims that it had exploited Xerox, the office goods giant.

Xerox did confirm on January 2nd that a subsidiary was breached and personal documents were stolen.  The statement reads below:

“Recently, Xerox’s subsidiary, Xerox Business Solutions, experienced a security incident which was detected and contained by Xerox cybersecurity personnel. The event was limited to XBS U.S. We are actively working with third-party cybersecurity experts to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident and are taking necessary steps to further secure the XBS IT environment. The incident had no impact on Xerox’s corporate systems, operations or data, and no effect on XBS operations.? However, our preliminary investigation indicates that limited personal information in the XBS environment may have been affected. As per our policy and standard operating procedure, we will notify all affected individuals as required. The data privacy and protection of our clients, partners, and employees are our highest priority.”

However, INC Ransom has now just published a link for users to download the exploited data on their darkweb platform.

There has been no comment from Xerox on acquiescing to the ransom attack and this publication has not verified the veracity of the claims or the documents.
