Several explosions have been heard and a fire is currently burning at the airport at Rostov-on-Don, Russia. Eyewitnesses are reporting this occurred at the military airfield northwest of the city near Tsentralny in the Oktyabrysky district where the 535th Mixed Aviation Regiment and 546th Army helicopters reportedly operate from. Eyewitnesses also reporting the fire is due to an aircraft crash. The Rostov-on-Don international airport was shut down in 2018 and civilian operations were moved to Platov International, Northeast of the city.
