Democrats Win Nevada Senate Race, Hold Senate Majority

Unofficial Confirmed report.

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto narrowly defeated a challenge for the last Senate Seat in Nevada on Saturday night. This hands the democrats a majority in the Senate with 51 seats.

The midterms have not yet been completed, though: The Georgia Senate race will be decided on December 6 in a runoff, giving Democrats a chance to gain a new seat and increase their majority or republicans gaining that seat and only being down by 1 in the Senate.

If Republicans would have won Nevada, the Georgia senate runoff would have made it an essentially “overtime” play for senate control, which has only happened a few times.

This has yet to be 100% announced and confirmed by both sides—to make it official one candidate has to call the other to concede the race.
