ISIS Claims to Have Killed 80 al-Qaeda Militants, Burkina Faso-Mali Border

The Islamic State has claimed in a press release today that it’s fighters had killed about 80 al-Qaeda militants and captured six vehicles on the Burkina-Faso-Mali Border on November 12th. The Islamic State and its affiliates have largely abated their competition with Al-Qaeda in Syria. However, across the Sahel, both groups continue to skirmish and in this case, conduct full-throated operations against one another for operational control of key commercial areas. This is a single-source report from the Islamic State and has not been verified yet.
