A 6.2 magnitude earthquake has been detected with an epicenter in Duzce, Merkez, Turkey, which is about 175km East of Istanbul. Tremors are being reported in Ankara and Istanbul. The earthquake depth is about two kilometers.
A 6.4 magnitude earthquake was registered in May 2003 which killed 178. No casualties have been reported thus far.
