Russian media outlet Tass just published an article about a new battalion formed by the Donetsk People’s Republic.
But this battalion is unique as it reportedly has 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war in its ranks. The article goes on to cite an unnamed source who is “a representative of the power structures of the region.”
The article states that the Ukrainians were being held at a camp in the small town of Yelenovka. Then in late September, the POWs announced their desire to join DPR forces.
As more information comes out, I plan to look into the validity of this Tass article. Stay tuned for updates.
