In a press release, the Azeri Ministry of Defense called on Russian peacekeepers to “suppress all provocative actions of illegal Armenian military formations, including the mining of territories.”
This statement was motivated by a ceasefire violation yesterday which was blamed on Azeri forces. However, the Azeri MOD is claiming that Armenian forces are the ones who violated the ceasefire.
The Azeri MOD asserted that peacekeeping forces use maps that have Azeri settlements named incorrectly with “Armenian toponyms” and these incorrectly named settlements are why Azeri forces were blamed for a ceasefire violation that Armenians committed.
