Al-Shabaab militants are still held up in Mogadishu’s Villa Rose Hotel. They began their attack last night around 8:00 p.m. with suicide bombings. Fighters then entered the hotel and have since been engaging Somali forces attempting to retake the building.
Local media has reported at least 10 have been killed so far. Those among the reported dead include British citizen, Mohamed Sayid Hassan Elmi.
