At approximately 0909 EST, shots rang out at the Benning Road metro station in Washington D.C. This is Eastern D.C. near Capitol Heights.
MPD is assisting @MetroTransitPD with three people shot at the Benning Road Metro Station at 4500 Benning Road, NE. At this time, there is no ongoing threat. Metro Transit Police will be leading the investigation.

Metro Police has confirmed the incident and investigators have cordoned off the area, causing Blue Line delays at the intersection of Addison Road and Stadium-Armory in Maryland. It is not currently clear if a suspect has been apprehended.
