Gunman Opens Fire at Amazon Warehouse, Killed by Armed Employee

One person was wounded after a gunman opened fire at an Amazon warehouse near Phoenix, Arizona, on Wednesday, but was killed by another armed employee, stopping a potential active shooter situation.

According to authorities, an unnamed suspect entered the grounds of an Amazon fulfillment center in Chandler, Arizona, at around 9:30 am, where he then opened fire on a contracted employee, hitting him several times. Moments after the shooting began, an armed contracted employee returned fire, killing the gunman. The wounded employee was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries in unknown condition.

During a press announcement, Chandler Police Sgt. Jason McClimans stated that the gunman was not an employee of the facility and his motives remain unknown at this time, as this could have been a targeted attack or an attempted mass shooting. No other workers were wounded during the shooting.
