Ovidio Guzman, son of notorious drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, has been arrested by Mexican forces during an operation in Sinaloa earlier today, which sparked a severe outbreak in violence by cartel members.
Ovidio, a senior figure in the Sinaloa Cartel, had previously been captured in 2019, but was quickly released by Mexican authorities to prevent bloodshed following intense firefights and threats of reprisal attacks against civilians by the Sinaloa Cartel.
