British PM Rishi Sunak has confirmed in a conversation with Ukrainian President Zelensky that the United Kingdom will send a squadron of Challenger 2 tanks and additional artillery systems to Ukraine.
Ukrainian officials have said they hoped that tanks from the UK would make it possible for Germany to send Leopard 2 tanks as well. Ukraine has said previously it wants 300 western tanks as part of a wider resupply effort to help it drive out Russian forces.
