In a statement to CNN, Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said that “We are seeing reports of a balloon transiting Latin America. We now assess it is another Chinese surveillance balloon.” Since yesterday, there had also been increasing reports of a similar balloon transiting over Costa Rica.
