The Taliban General Directorate of Intelligence has issued a security warning for Kabul’s Green Zone, reporting that a suspected ISKP vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) has successfully entered the area, however, its exact location is unknown.
This comes amid increased messaging by Islamic State– Khorasan Province (ISKP) of threats of attacks against Saudi targets. In response, Saudi Arabia has closed and evacuated its embassy in Afghanistan.
Remaining foreign diplomatic services in the Green Zone are on high alert.
