The United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) announced earlier today that an airstrike carried out northwest of Hobyo, Somalia, killed 12 al-Shabaab militants “at the request of the Federal Government of Somalia and in support of Somali National Army engagements…”
No civilian casualties were reported from the strike.
