U.S. Forces Capture ISIS Official

U.S. Forces, working in conjunction with Syrian Defense Forces, carried out a helicopter raid in eastern Syria on Saturday morning to capture an ISIS official.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the successful raid on Saturday afternoon.

The captured ISIS official was identified only as Batar, an ISIS commander in Syria who had been involved in planning attacks on SDF-guarded detention centers and manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

This raid came just hours after U.S. forces and SDF partners carried out a raid to kill a senior ISIS leader, Hamza al-Homsi. Four U.S. service members and one working dog were injured in that raid.

CENTCOM reported no U.S. or SDF forces or civilians were injured in this latest raid.
