While speaking with Chinese media, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Chinese President Xi Jinping “will make a statement or speech about the conflict in Ukraine,” adding that “ Please note that this is such an unusual step for Chinese politics. The Chinese are always neat, careful. Where they don’t go, they don’t climb. If they understand that this will not give the desired, required result, they will not take steps in this direction either.”
Lukashenko then went on to warn that “if this message, which comes from the mouth of the Chinese leader, is not heard by those to whom it is addressed, it will also have serious consequences. Therefore, just looking ahead, I advise those who will be addressed to Xi Jinping’s words to take them seriously and take certain steps. It will be a serious voice for peace in this region.”
