Russian and Belarusian media have reported at a Russian A-50 AEW&C was heavily damaged following an explosion at the Machulishchy Airbase near Minsk, Belarus.
Belarusian opposition group BYPOL claimed that “The damage is serious, the aircraft is definitely not flying anywhere anymore. The accident occurred while snowplows were working near the aircraft. […] Belarusian partisans are consistent in expelling fascists from their land.”
At this time, the origin and cause of the blast remains unconfirmed. Likewise, Belarusian and Russian officials have not commented on the incident.
