At Least 3 Killed in Shootout Between Artsakh and Azerbaijan

Small clashes once again took place in Artsakh today, with the Armenian side claiming three were killed. As per usual, the stories of Azerbaijan and Artsakh differ. Artsakh and Armenian authorities claim that police officers of the Passport and Visa department were attacked in an “ambush”, killing three and wounding one, who has been taken to a hospital.

Azerbaijan, however, claims the vehicle was being used to transport military equipment from Armenia to Artsakh. They say they received information about the vehicle, and when they attempted to stop it, were fired upon. A firefight ensued, “and there were casualties and injuries from both sides as a result of the firefight”, said the Azeri MoD. They did not give an exact number for the “casualties”.
