Russian Federation Lieutenant Colonel Lissitzky has been found dead in his apartment in Stavropol. He is the recipient of the Hero of Russia award and a former commander of a air assault battalion of the 247th Guards Special Cossack Regiment.
Acting Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University Vladimir Sitnikov originally said he died in Ukraine, but Stavropol authorities reported he committed suicide in his apartment. However, pro-Ukrainian groups also claim that he was assassinated.
