About three hours ago Palestinian worshippers locked themselves inside the Al-Qibli prayer hall in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in an attempt to stop Israeli police from removing them by force. Approximately 40 minutes ago (around 6:10PM EST) Israeli police managed to enter the hall. Shortly after, Palestinians began shooting fireworks at the police, who were throwing stun grenades, tear gas, and firing rubber bullets. Israeli police advanced and have been filmed striking several men and women with clubs, firearms, and chairs. At around 6:40-6:50 EST, Israeli police made a series of arrests.
