ISIS Leader Killed During American Drone Strike in Syria

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that senior Islamic State leader Khalid ‘Ahmad al-Jabouri was killed during a drone strike operation in northwestern Syria on April 3.

According to CENTCOM, al-Jabouri was “responsible for planning ISIS attacks into Europe and developed the leadership structure for ISIS.”

CENTCOM Commander Michael Kurilla noted that “ISIS continues to represent a threat to the region and beyond. Though degraded, the group remains able to conduct operations within the region with a desire to strike beyond the Middle East.”
