Evacuation Efforts Complete at American Embassy in Sudan

Evacuation efforts at the United States embassy in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum were successful, with sources indicating that 70 diplomats and their families were extracted via helicopters.

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) announced that they coordinated with American forces to carry out the operation and fighting in the capital appeared to have been halted to help ensure safety.

The evacuation was only for diplomats; the United States has previously stated that there are no plans to help evacuate the 16,000 American civilians in the country as it faces continued fighting between the RSF and Sudanese military forces.
