South Korea Releases Photos of DPRK Space Launch Vehicle Debris

South Korea has released photos of recovered debris from North Korea’s failed launch of its “space launch vehicle” earlier today, which was carrying the DPRK’s first military spy satellite called “Malligyong-1.”

According to South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff, the rocket crashed into the West Sea some 200km west of Eocheong Island.

North Korean state media confirmed the failed launch, stating that a second stage failure and loss of propulsion was to blame in addition to “unstable” fuel. A second launch attempt is expected in the coming days.
