At approximately 1247 EST, initial reports began to emerge of a civilian helicopter crash in the area of a training base at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, West Virginia. Local media confirmed that two had been life-flighted from the scene with critical injuries to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
By 1254 EST, the West Virginia National Guard confirmed it was not one of their aircraft and that their forces were standing by ready to assist.
The WVNG is tracking the report of a downed helicopter in the area of our training base at Camp Dawson in Kingwood, WV.
