July 27th Damascus Bombing Suspect Killed in Beirut Raid

On July 27th a car bomb went off outside the Sayeda Zeinab shrine just south of Damascus, which killed at least 6 people and injured many more. The following day, ISIS claimed the attack.

Now on August 20th, the suspect who orchestrated the attack has been killed in Beirut, Lebanon, after throwing himself from the 7th floor of a building during a raid, in an attempt to escape arrest. The 23 year old Syrian national originally survived the fall, however he quickly succumbed to his wounds after being taken to the nearby St. George hospital.

Notably the raid was not carried out by Lebanese police, but instead was carried out by Hezbollah.

After the attack, the suspect illegally entered Lebanon, and had been residing with relatives in Southern Beirut.
