Niger Military Junta Begins Wave of Foreign Diplomat Expulsions


The Niger military junta has begun a way of expulsions targeting foreign ambassadors. At the time of posting, ambassadors from the United States, Germany France, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast have been ordered to leave the country within 48 hours. More expulsions are expected to come in the following hours.

This comes as one of the clearest signals that diplomatic measures have failed as ECOWAS forces are primed for military intervention.
