Biden Implies that US will Deliver ATACMS Long-Range Missiles to Ukraine

When asked by reporters if he had “promised President Zelensky during his visit to the White House that you would provide ATACMS,” United States President Joe Biden replied that “I spoke with Zelensky. And everything he’s asked for, we worked out.”

This comes as Doug Bush, the assistant secretary of the US military for acquisition, logistics, and technology, told Bloomberg that the military “has been postured for this eventuality for a while,” adding that “we’re ready when and if the president decides to do this.”

ATACMS, or the Army Tactical Missile System, is a long-range guided ballistic missile with a range of 300kn. The weapon can be fired from M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), which are already in service with the Ukrainian military.
