Two Israeli Tourists Killed by Egyptian Policeman in Alexandria, Egypt

While a group of tourists were on a tour in the historic “Pompey’s Pillar” site in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, an Egyptian policeman reportedly open fire upon them, killing two of the tourists, who were Israeli. Additionally, one Egyptian national has also been killed, and one more Israeli has been reported to be wounded. The Israeli government is cooperating with the Egyptian government to bring the injured Israeli back to Israel.

The policeman who carried out the attack was detained at the site. While an official motive has not been released, it is likely in connection to the ongoing war between Israel and Gaza, and is being hailed by Palestinian militants as an “act of resistance”.
