The Mayor of the Israeli city of Sderot, Alon Davidi, has requested to Israeli PM Netanyahu to evacuate the towns remaining residents. Before the beginning of the present conflict, approximately 31,000 people lived in Sderot, of which only 45% remain after thousands of people left. Earlier today, Davidi requested the evacuation of the remaining people, saying he receives a constant flow of requests for evacuation from civilians still in the town.

Approximately two hours ago (around 1:30EST) reports began to flow in online saying that the request had been granted and evacuation would soon be under way, however this seemingly has not been reported through any official channels and is unconfirmed at this time.
