Significant Israeli air and artillery strikes against northern Gaza this evening, described by local media as the most intense since fighting began on October 7.
Meanwhile, rockets have been fired towards Israel from Gaza.
A near complete collapse of network and internet connectivity also reported across the region.
This uptick in strikes follows two days of raids into Gaza by IDF armor, which targeted Hamas positions along the border.
An IDF spokesman noted tonight that “Following the offensive activity we carried out in the last few days, the ground forces are expanding the ground activity this evening.”
Unclear if this is just an escalation of operations, or the start of the IDF ground invasion.
