U.S Base at Al-Omar Oil Field in Syria Attacked Again

According to Sabereen News on Telegram, the main social media conglomerate supporting all “resistance” actions and factions in Iraq with possible ties to Iran’s IRGC, has reported that tonight local time Sunday for another time this week the United States base at the Al-Omar oil field in Theban, southwestern Syria, is or was under attack by militant forces using unspecified weapons. On Friday, reportedly, the base was targeted by a missile, according to an Al-Mayadeen correspondent. On Saturday, reportedly, rockets fell around the base at the same time that other attacks targeted U.S. bases in Deir ez-Zor and al-Hasakah provinces. This came also after previous rocket and drone attacks targeted U.S. bases at the Omar oil field and the Conoco gas field in Syria in the week. The region/governorate of Deir ez-Zor, where the field is located, is often targeted by Iranian-backed forces.

Since the Hamas attack on October 7th and the response of the Israeli military with attacks and ground incursions into Gaza, there has been an uptick of attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East, which the White House says Iran is facilitating.
