Islamic Resistance Targets Al-Asad Airbase, Iraq

The Islamic Resistance of Iraq released a statement on Tuesday claiming responsibility for a drone attack on the American Al-Asad airbase located in western Iraq.

Sabereen News, which is closely affiliated with the group, published a statement saying that the group utilized two drones that “directly hit their targets.”

This is the most recent attack launched by the Islamic Resistance on a US forces in a string of attacks in Syria and Iraq. You can read more about the increase in attacks here.

The statement reads below:

“In the name of God, the most Gracious, the most Merciful permission is given to those who fight on the grounds that they have been wronged, and indeed, God is powerful to grant them victory. The Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted the American occupation base in Ain al-Asad, western Iraq, with two drones, and they directly hit their targets.”
