While speaking with reporters, Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder said that the military’s initial assessment of the five gunmen arrested after yesterday’s attempted hijacking of the Liberian-flagged tanker M/V Central Park were Somali and not Yemeni Houthis, calling the incident “piracy related.”
The development does not clarify why Houthi forces launched two missiles towards the USS Mason during the incident.
