The Lebanese military today confirmed the death of one Lebanese soldier, as well as the wounding of three others, from IDF shelling of Southern Lebanon.
Notably, this is the first Lebanese soldier to have been killed since the start of the Israel-Gaza war on October 7th, which has seen consistent clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.
UNIFIL, the UN force in Lebanon, released a statement confirming the incident and urging “those exchanging fire along the Blue Line” (the blue line being the demarcation line between Lebanon and Israel) to “end the cycle of violence”.
The Lebanese Armed Forces have confirmed that a soldier was killed and three injured when their base was hit by the IDF today. This is the first time, a LAF soldier was killed during this critical period. The Lebanese Armed Forces have not engaged in conflict with Israel.
