Colin Armstrong, the head of the UK’s consulate in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil, has reportedly been kidnapped by thus far unknown actors. Police reported the kidnapping took place early this morning, December 16th, at a farm that Armstrong owns in the city of Baba, which is close to Guayaquil.
The kidnapping comes amidst sharply rising cartel related violence, of which Guayaquil is a hotspot.
