At approximately 0635 EST, Belgorod Oblast Governor Gladkov announced that Russian troops were engaged with Ukrainian troops that had crossed the border into Russia near the village of Terebreno in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district of Belgorod. Terebreno is less than 3km from the Ukrainian border and has about 200 civilians living in it.
By 0840 EST, Russian attack helicopters had been deployed to stem the attack. Russian sources claim that the Ukrainian sabotage group numbered no more than 10 personnel. As of this publication, the fighting is ongoing and civilians in the village are seeking shelter in their basements.
