According to Al Mayadeen, Djibouti Foreign Minister Youssouf refused to provide forces to Operation Prosperity Guardian, the U.S.-led initiative to shield international shipping lanes from Houthi attacks. The Foreign Minister said “If Palestine does not find relief elsewhere, may God bless the relief provided by the Yemenis.”
Djibouti not to partake in US-led naval coalition against Yemen

This statement is puzzling considering Djibouti hosts a major U.S. naval base which is directly supporting major surface combatants of the U.S. Navy and coalition warships that are carrying out the operation. This statement does not seem to reflect Djibouti’s willingness to change hosting arrangements, rather that Djibouti will not provide domestic material support or actual forces to the operation.
