Islamic Resistance in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Attack Against al-Omar Oil Field

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella organization of Iran-backed Shia militias, has claimed responsibility for an explosive drone attack against American forces at the al-Omar oil field in Syria.

In a statement, the group said:

“In continuation of our approach to resisting the American occupation forces in Iraq and the region, and in response to the Zionist entity’s massacres against our people in Gaza, the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, using drones, attacked the occupation base in the Al-Omar oil field in Syria, and the Islamic Resistance confirms its continued destruction of enemy strongholds.”

The Syrian Observatory of Human Rights has claimed that the strike resulted in casualties.
