Sudan Recalls Ambassador to Kenya

Sudan’s central government has recalled its ambassador to Kenya after Kenyan President William Ruto held a meeting with Rapid Support Forces (RSF) leader General Mohamed ‘Hemedti’ Hamdan Dagalo. The RSF leader stopped in Kenya as a part of a tour he has been on to various African countries in his first outside of Sudan since the start of the war between the RSF and the government 9 months ago.

Keen to deny the RSF any sense of international legitimacy, Sudan’s government has warned other African nations that meeting with Dagalo would be “making themselves a partner in the murder of the Sudanese people” by the RSF, who they referred to as “killers”.

In his tour, Dagalo has thus far visited Uganda, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, and is now in South Africa.
