Uganda Denies Nigeria is Banning Ugandan Degrees

Uganda’s National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) has denied that Nigeria will be suspending degree accreditation from Uganda, contrary to claims from the Nigerian education minister that they would be extending “the dragnet” of nations which they are banning degrees from to Uganda.

Nigeria’s education ministry has suspended degree accreditation from several African nations in a wider crackdown on fraudulent degrees, from what they refer to as “degree mills”. The fraudulent degrees are able to be achieved in very short amounts of time, and usually have authentic certification.

The NCHE stated they have received no complaints from Nigeria about the legitimacy of their papers.
